Underrated Online ResourceS To Get You Through Your Degree
Smart Countdown Timer
This is a simple and clean timer that is available on the App Store to download on your computer. Smart Countdown Timer gives you the option to put in an amount of time, like 10 minutes, or a specific time in the future, like 3:30 pm. This is great for managing your study sessions!
App (Phone, PC)
In the Focus app for your computer, you will find a to-do list and a Pomodoro timer. For those unfamiliar with the Pomodoro method, this is a technique where you work for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break. After four cycles of this, you can take a 15-minute break. This is great for preventing burn-out during studying sessions!
Plan: Organize Your Life
Plan is an online to-do list that allows you to create labels for each of your courses and add tasks and due dates. You can easily drag a task to a specific day’s timeline to plan your daily schedule, as well as your weekly schedule. The best part is that Plan syncs with Google calendar, so you can access your tasks wherever you go!
Forest is a great app for those who have difficulty staying off their phone while studying. In the app, you “plant a tree,” which then prompts you to turn off your phone to let it grow. If you turn on your phone, the tree will die, but if you successfully finish your study session, the tree will appear in your orchard. It is super rewarding to look at your collection of trees that accumulates once you’ve been using Forest for a while!
